Ivins, UT- William “Vance” Wiley, 57, passed away July 22,2022 due to illness. He was a long-time resident of Green River, WY.
He was born November 1, 1964 in Payson, UT and raised in Elberta to Ila May Steele and Roy Garth Wiley. He married Corene Marie Vigil on June 11, 1988.
Vance was born in Payson, UT and lived in to Elberta, UT. In High School he wrestled, played football and graduated with the class of 1984. As he loved to tell everyone, he was an extra in the movie Footloose and it was the highlight of his school years. After graduation, Vance moved to Green River, WY, where met and married Corene. Together, they had 4 children. Mr. Wiley was a loving husband and a phenomenal father. He worked as a carpenter for the Window and Door Store for many years. He loved hunting and fishing. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his children and watch them play various sports and participate in different extra-curricular activities. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, along with his 4-legged best friend, Milo. Vance was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Anyone who met him would refer to him as a “gentle giant” or a “giant teddy bear”. He was a very loving man.
Vance is survived by his wife, Corene Wiley, of Green River, WY; son, William Tyson Wiley of Dallas, TX; son, Robert Austin Wiley and fiancé Angel Quigley of Ivins, UT; daughter, Miranda (Randee) Mae Morrow and Nicholas Morrow of Green River, WY; daughter, Tawnee Mariah Wiley of Green River, WY; bonus son, Xavier Funk of Michigan; brother, Mark Sawyer and wife Cindy, of St. George, UT; brother, Robert (Teresa) Wiley of Las Vegas, NV; Mother-In-Law Rita Vigal, Sisters-In-Law Brenda (Lewis) Real, Peggy (Alan) Medina; two granddaughters, Jessalynn Morrow, and Lula Funk, and three grandsons, Damien Pfeifer, Grae Wiley, and Patrick Roitz; as well as several nieces and nephews. And long time companions Milo and Cara.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ila May Wiley; father, R. Garth Wiley; sister, Darla May Forbush; brother, Mike Sawyer; niece, Nicole Forbush; as well as many long-time friends.
Funeral services are to be announced.
