William Ruesch

William Rulon Ruesch of Springdale, Utah passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022. He was born on September 16, 1936 in Springdale, Utah to Susan Crawford and Howard Ruesch. He was married to Clarina Davis Ruesch on October 15, 1964
in the Salt Lake City Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah.

While he was growing up he went by Rulon, and many of his family and friends still called him Rulon. He grew up in Springdale and went to Springdale Elementary School and then went to Hurricane High School. He went to and graduated from Dixie Jr. College where he played football. He worked at many of the National Parks with his older brothers in the kitchens. He had training and became a meatcutter. He was working in Lone Pine, California when he married. While he lived there, he had two daughters--Michele and Cynthia. Not long after Cynthia was born, he moved to Trona, California, where he had two boys—Michael and Eric. He coached both of his boys in Little League baseball. He enjoyed working with wood—he was able to build some of the furniture in our home. In 2000, he retired and moved back to his childhood home in Springdale, Utah. He enjoyed his summers growing a garden.

He had many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Ward Clerk for his Father in Springdale, Utah. He served a mission in Northern California. He served in the Branch Presidency in Lone Pine, California. He was on the High Counsel in the Ridgecrest California Stake. He was a Ward Clerk, Bishop, and High Priest Group Leader, as well as other callings in Trona, California. When he returned to Springdale, he was the Sunday School President and the High Priest Group Leadership.

He is survived by Clarina Davis Ruesch of Springdale, Utah; his children Michele, Cynthia, Michael, Linnae (daughter-in-law), and Eric; and grandchildren, Scott and Kylara. He is survived by his sister Karen Oldroyd (Morris) of Murry, Utah. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers—Howard (Susan), John (Ferriland), and Morris, and sisters—Clara (Grant), Jessie (Budd), Vada (Frosty), Betty (Jack), and Lucy (Pace).

He did not want a funeral, so there will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Springdale, Utah. It will be held from 4:00—6:00 pm. It will be casual dress. Come and share stories, visit, and enjoy a dessert bar.
