Virginia ‘Wylene’ Knight, of Hurricane, Ut, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on November 14, 1960, in Grants Pass, Or, to Frederick and Iona Miller, she was the youngest of seven children. Wylene was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Annie Piccinetti and Gloria Purcell, brothers Frank Perkins and Charles Daugherty, as well as her husband, Roland Knight.
Wylene is survived by her sister Beverly Goodwin-Bushell and her brother Rick Miller, both of Hurricane, Ut She also leaves behind her children and stepchildren: Krystal Crooks of Las Vegas, Nv; Robert Brazington of Caldwell, Id; Russell Knight of Salt Lake City, Ut; Luray Stone of Horseshoe Bend, Id; Dale Knight of Salt Lake City, Ut; Margie Hatch of Desert Springs, Az; Sean Knight of Salt Lake City, Ut She was immensely proud of her extensive family, including her many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Raised in various parts of Oregon and Nevada, Wylene attended school in Pahrump, Nv, and graduated while living in Indian Springs, Nv. Life’s challenges led her to raise two beautiful but headstrong children on her own. She supported them through their teenage years, loving them through every mistake and small victory. Her heart was also open to her stepchildren, whom she cherished as her own.
Known for her remarkable work ethic, Wylene became an invaluable asset wherever she worked. Her involvement in church and her eagerness to serve were hallmarks of her character. With a zest for life, she made friends who became family, and to know her was to love her.
A memorial service to celebrate Wylene’s life will be held on September 14, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at LDS Church, Sky Mountain Building, 452 N. 2600 W., Hurricane, Ut 84737
