Thelma Jolley Beighley, age 89 passed away on October 26, 2024, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family. Born to Clive Alpheus Jolley and Zola Cox on January 25, 1935, in Tropic, Utah. Thelma was a lifelong example of love, service and dedication to her family and faith.
Thelma spent her early years in Tropic, Utah before moving to Orem where she played softball for Lincoln High School. Thelma married Jack R. Beighley, December 9, 1961, and they were later sealed on May 27, 1969 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Thelma spent over 40 years in American Fork, where she raised her daughters and dedicated herself to family history work.
Thelma had a love for learning and continued her education at Utah Valley University where she obtained a business degree in 1987.
Thelma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, where she served in many positions as well as serving a mission at the Family Search Library in Salt Lake City. She exemplified true charity and willingly gave her time and talents to those in need.
Thelma loved to sew and paint. Her family has been blessed with many beautiful oil paintings to remember her by.
Jack & Thelma were snowbirds, traveling between American Fork and St. George for many years until they moved permanently to St. George in 2000 where they could enjoy golf and Thelma could spend time with her sisters.
Thelma is survived by her spouse of 63 years, Jack R. Beighley (St. George, Utah); daughters, Doni Jo (Rick) Carlton and Bobi (Brad) Johnson both residing in St. George, Utah and son-in-law Lynn Carson, Tooele, Utah; grandchildren, Nicole Turner, Cassie Amis, Jacki Peacock, Dustin Grantham, Dakoda Kay Grantham, Alexandrea Painter, Jacqueline Carlton, Natasha Carlton, Victoria Carlton, Courtney Carlton, Chancellor Carlton, Kennadie Parkinson, Jaxson Johnson, Lincoln Johnson, Reagan Johnson & Karter Johnson; great-grandchildren, Abbi Turner, Breanna Turner, Katlyn Martinez, Alyssa Martinez, Jaxon Peacock, Jada Peacock, Paige Grantham, Alivia Grantham, Jesse Grantham, Amorelle Grantham, Kaylee Grantham, Arabella Painter, Rockwell Painter, Annsley Painter, Averley Jo Painter, Isabella Carlton, and Rory Parkinson; great, great grandchildren, Elijah Sedano, Kaylie Sedano, Gabriel Martinez-Griffith & Layla Martinez; sisters, Clerece Neil and twin sister Velma (Bill) Southwick and brother LaMar Jolley.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Clive and Zola Jolley, daughters Vickie Lynn Carson and Gaylene Grantham, and grandson Jesse Kay Grantham.
Thelma will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for her family and her tireless efforts to preserve and honor the past through her family history work. Her life was a testament to the importance of family, and she will be deeply missed by all who know and love her.
Graveside Services will be Friday, November 1st at the St. George City Cemetery at 1pm.
