Steve was born in Los Angeles to Edward and Karen Richmond on February 12th, 1955. Steve made friends easily and could put you at ease instantly. His presence was so large and strong that everyone who knew him felt comfort and safety, and anyone who came into his home felt welcomed and at home.

As a child Steve enjoyed swimming in the canals with his siblings, driving fast cars-fast!, and living life as large as he could. While in his teenage years the family joined the LDS church, and Steve knew he wanted to go on a mission and serve the Lord. He loved his mission, as he loved serving the people of Georgia. He continued to serve the church in many capacities throughout his life which brought him much joy. Steve was honored to serve in the bishopric in his last calling for the church, and it proved to be one of the highlights of his life, as he loved, and was loved deeply by all whom he served.

Steve finally found and married the love of his life Deborah Wood on April 29th, 2005, and they have since been sealed in the Temple for time and all eternity.

Steve's love for his children has been an anchor and a joy for him throughout his life, and that love made it easy and natural for him to bring Debs children into his heart and treat them as his own right from the start. ‘He was a Good Daddy’  and he will be missed greatly by all his family!

Steve loved beauty!...sunsets, flowers, architecture, crystal... literally all the beautiful things of this world held a place in his heart. He also loved animals… Every dog he met got a real good scratch. And he LOVED his ranching experience with the kids in Idaho! The combination of being with people he loved and working with the animals was pure joy for him.

Steve was a very accomplished plumber and pipefitter and worked in that field for over 40 years. He always took pride in his work and enjoyed doing the best job. He made friends quickly, respected the boss, and always joked around so everyone enjoyed working together which resulted in many lifelong friends over the years.

In his younger years Steve was known as quite the fighter, and it’s been said he could have earned a PHD ‘taking people to school’ on the highways, (just ask the truckers if you don’t believe us, lol), but as he grew through the experiences of his life, he became the gentle giant we all know and love.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Karen, brother Don, son Jonathon, and grandson Ryley.

Steve is survived by his wife, Debbie, his siblings, Ken (Debbie), Jeannie (Greg), and Jennie. His children Steve, Michelle (Zach), Sara (Juan), Emily (Adam), Jake (Erica), BJ (Shiloh), and Charlin (Beau). 18 grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and he was the favorite Uncle and Grandpa to all of them.
