In loving memory of Stacy DeAnne Childress, born on November 28, 1976, in the vibrant city of Whittier, California, to Darcia Childress and William "Bill" Childress. Stacy peacefully passed away on December 8, 2023, at her home in St. George, Utah.
Her childhood was a tapestry of laughter, mischief, and countless friendships, with her partner in crime and brother, Sean. The sun-kissed beaches of California witnessed Stacy's joy-filled days with her family. She developed an early interest for acting and
modeling, showcasing her effortless beauty and radiant tan that she carried throughout her life. At the age of 14, Stacy's family embarked on a new chapter, settling in the beautiful city of St. George, Utah. She graduated from Pine View High School, Class of 1994.
Stacy's lifelong dream of motherhood blossomed at 22 when she welcomed her firstborn, the beautiful Savannah "Vannie." Just 11 months later, her heart expanded with the arrival of Housten "Boostie." She spent every day with her two girls soaking in being a new mom. After spending close to four years living with her two sidekicks, she had Tess “Tessie Lou”. This was closely followed by the blessing of her fourth and final daughter, Ellee "Bell," just two years later. Stacy reveled in being a devoted girl mom, cherishing moments of doing hair and dress-up, and capturing it all through countless
photoshoots.
Through hardship and heartache Stacy never failed to express how much love she had for her family and friends. Whether it be chauffeuring kids in her white van she named "White Lightning" or infusing gatherings with her lively spirit, she radiated warmth in countless lives.
Over the recent years, her family has grown, welcoming two beloved sons-in-law, John and Boston, who became as dear to her heart as her own children. Just last year, Stacy experienced the pure joy of becoming a grandmother to her first grandbaby, Waylon. She showered him with love and all the toys he could ever need and with these additions to her family, she gracefully stepped into the role of both a beloved mother-in-law and “Mimi” to adorable Waylon. Stacy's love knew no bounds. She dedicated her life to her four beloved daughters and loved ones.
She is survived by her four loving daughters: Savannah Green, Housten Shumway, Tess Iverson, and Ellee Heaton ; son-in-law’s: John Shumway and Boston Iverson; and grandson, Waylon Shumway. Additionally, she leaves behind her aunt, Lynette Hopkins,
and niece, Callie Childress.
She has been reunited with her family that has previously passed on father, William “Bill” Childress; Mother, Darcia Childress; and brother, Sean Childress.
In our hearts forever, Stacy's light continues to shine brightly, a testament to a life well-lived and love endlessly shared.
