Shirley Mae Turner, 98 years young, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Brenda, in Winnemucca, NV.

She was born in Onamia, Minnesota on May 18, 1926 to Sidney Claude Winter and Clara Emolyn (Mudge) Winter. She married Charles Lee Turner in1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Shirley loved traveling and since Lee was in the Navy their assigned duty stations allowed her to introduce her family to different cultures in the states. They enjoyed hunting , fishing and camping trips and after Lee retired they became camp ground hosts all over the states.

She became an EMT and taught classes to Nevada Power employees. She was active in the Heart Association and in the VFW for many years. She continued attending the reunions after Lee’s passing and traveled extensively internationally. She spent wonderful days with family and friends on cruises. She was always ready to participate in any family events and stayed in touch with friends. In her later years she enjoyed doing ceramics with her friends, Dawn and Joanne.Shirley retained her wit to the end, and we will miss her feisty personality!

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Dave Storey, from Toquerville, Utah, Brenda and Bob Haggard from Winnemucca, NV, Vonselle and Jesus Telles, from Overton, NV, and Claudette and Jay Moore from Henderson, NV. Preceding her in death are her sons, Bruce and Ricky Dale.
