Sharon Ann Denney Dean, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at home in St. George, Utah, surrounded by family. She was born October 6, 1933 to Wilford Edison Denney and Catherine (Smith) Denney in Union, Utah.
Sharon graduated from Jordan High School in 1951. Sharon married Richard Allen Dean on June 20, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Sharon was a devoted mother and wife. She loved her family and did the very best she could working two jobs her whole life until her retirement in 1998. She worked for the Buena Park, Huntington Beach, Eugene and Sutherlin Police Departments as a records clerk, dispatcher, and secretary. She also worked at the Los Alamitos Army Airfield at the Chief Petty Officer Club. Her example of hard work, at home and at work, taught her children to be the best they could be.
Sharon was a temple worker and loved Genealogy work during her retirement years. Genealogy was definitely her passion. Sharon served in various church callings and had a strong testimony of the gospel.
Sharon had the sweetest disposition and the cutest sense of humor. A hospice nurse, Ruth, said, “Sharon you are just too sweet, can I take you home for a day?” Sharon said, with a smile and a soft voice, “You’d be SORRY!” She was loved by everyone because of her sweet disposition. Her gentle, kind hearted personality will always be remembered and treasured.
Sharon is survived by her four children, Debra Ann Dean (Dennis Wayne Murphy, Val Don Clayton Ashdown, deceased), Sandra Lin Dean (Donald LeRoy DeNoon, deceased), Stacy Desa Dean (Gary Lee Gardner) and Richard Allen Dean (Tammy Renee Coats). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
