Sharen Stevens Wetzel, age 73, passed away August 5, 2016. She was born in St. George, Utah to Charles Alma and Mary (Walker) Stevens.
Sharen was raised in St. George where she attended grade school and Dixie High School. She married Lewis Wetzel on February 16, 1968 in St. George, UT. When she married Lewis she started the grand adventure of being a military wife. Together they have lived in The Philippines, Colorado, Montana, Georgia, Germany, Florida, Utah, California, Arizona, Nevada and Missouri.
She loved to draw, sew, read, write poems, play piano and sing. She was often known to bust out singing a random song at any given moment. Sharen choose to be a stay at home mom. There was nothing that gave her more joy in this life than raising and being with her children and grandchildren.
After her husband Lewis passed away in 2011 she got the greatest desire of her heart - to return home to her beloved St. George. She loved being closer to her 3 daughters and her grandchildren.
Sharen had a delightful disposition and a smile for everyone she met. She had a generous heart and her charity to all will not be forgotten. She is now at rest and free from her body and the numerous health problems of the last few years.
She is survived by her children, David Wetzel, Jennifer Stoddard (Tom), Darin Wetzel, Angela Lopez (Alan) and Stephanie Wetzel; 11 Grandchildren; Anthony, Kristina, Kirsten, Kyra, Chanel, Micky, Vanessa, Hattagorn, Kara, Chistopher and Samantha, and 1 great granddaughter, Julie; Brothers Lowell Stevens (Afton) Easton Stevens (Peggy), Raphel Stevens (Karen) sisters Rose Anne Crews (Ed) and June Robison. She is preceded in death by her husband Lewis Wetzel, Parents Charles Alma and Mary Walker Stevens; brothers, Donny, Leland, Dale, Paul and Raymond Stevens; a sister Marylan Greenhalgh and a granddaughter Nikki Stoddard.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday August 9 at 11 am with a viewing at 10 am at Hughes Mortuary
1037 E 700 S, St. George, UT 84790. Internment will take place at the St. George City Cemetery.
