Norma Lee Bills Belliston passed away at home on August 23rd , after struggling with coronary artery disease. She was born August 17th, 1935, in Fairview, Utah to Jack and Erma Bills. She met Joseph Eldon Belliston while working at the lodge at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. They quickly fell in love and married on December 18th, 1953 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on February 12th, 1982. She is survived by her son, Bruce Belliston (Barbara) and daughter, Tracylynn Belliston Parker (Richard), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Our mom, grandma, and great grandma lived a full life with a cheerful, thankful heart and we all adored her. She was smart, spunky, strong-willed, and truly brave-especially the last two years while she missed ‘her Joe’ so very deeply. Now grandpa won’t have to wait for grandma and grandma won’t have to hurry!
She loved music, the beauty of the earth, America, her family, and her Savior. She and Joe worked hard and lived frugally so that they could have a comfortable life with lots of fun and adventures. Norma diligently cared for her family through good times and bad. She created traditions that her children and grandchildren will always be grateful for. There was plenty to admire and cherish in this little lady and we are all feeling the void she’s left. Thank goodness we have the “Pockets of Love” quilts that she made us to wrap up in.
After a small family service, interment will take place at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi, Utah on August 27 th.
The next time you think of Norma, take a friend to Denny’s and have breakfast for dinner, or eat a handful of Peanut M&M’s while you hum Over the Rainbow- that would make her smile for sure!
