St. George, UT

Nicolas Jake LiCalzi, 38, passed away on Monday, Mar 31, 2025.

He was born April 9, 1986 in Logan, UT to Joseph A. LiCalzi and Terry L. LiCalzi (Hull).

Nic spent his early childhood between Franklin and Preston, Idaho, where he developed a sense of adventure exploring Hull Valley and playing in Cub River with his brothers and cousins. His family later moved to St. George, Utah, where he attended Sunset Elementary, Coral Cliffs, and graduated from Snow Canyon High School.

Nic continued his education at Dixie State University, earning a degree in graphic design and working as a photographer for the Dixie Sun News. These formative years in Southern Utah's red rock landscape nurtured his artistic perspective and thoughtful approach to life.Nic's remarkable passion for the arts shined through his photography and videography, where he captured beauty in the ordinary and meaning in the overlooked. His artistic vision extended to thought-provoking stories and poetry that revealed his deep soul.

What truly defined Nic was his extraordinary capacity for love, generosity, and authenticity. He was a natural peace-maker who made everyone feel welcomed and accepted exactly as they were. Nic had a natural way to share his humor and lighten everyone’s day. Though Nic's physical presence is no longer with us, his impact continues through the countless lives he touched. His legacy lives not in material achievements but in the lessons of kindness and unconditional love he shared so freely. In honoring his memory, perhaps the greatest tribute we can offer is to love others as completely and authentically as he loved us.

He is survived by his father Joseph LiCalzi, brothers Tyler LiCalzi (Tia) and Wes LiCalzi (Tatiana), and nieces and nephews, Annika, Triston, Tirion, Joey, Macie and Terrah. He is preceded in death by his mother Terry LiCalzi, grandparents Roland and Ruby Hull, and grandmother Dorma Meinburg.

Help us celebrate his amazing life, by sharing stories, photos, and memories of Nic on his Facebook page facebook.com/nicolas.licalzi. It will be a place we can visit often and remember his sweet soul and unmatched spirit.
