Myrna Louise Gordon

Myrna Gordon passed away April 13, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born in Bell, California and lived most of her life there. However, she moved to beautiful St. George in 2018.

She graduated with a BA from Pepperdine University and a MA from California State University at Fullerton. She taught school for over 30 years. First in elementary school in Southern California in Walnut and in Special Education at the Jr. Sr. High School in Burney in Northern California.

After she retired she became an Educational Therapist and she and her husband, Robert Gordon worked with children who were having trouble in school. Their work became the basis for their speaking throughout the country and their book the "Turned Off Child" that gives ways to turn on the child who is having problems in school. The book is still on Amazon.

She loved music and sang in many choirs throughout California. She once sang with the Gene Mann singers in light operas at both the Greek Theater and San Francisco Opera House. She also wrote and directed a Bi-Centennial Program with 700 hundred students in Walnut, California.

She is survived by her two daughters, one son, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grand-children. A graveside service will be at Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George, Utah on Tuesday, April 18th at 9:00am, followed by a memorial service at the Westside Baptist Church 2299 W 2000 N in St. George, Utah on Tuesday, April 18th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donation should be made to the Westside Baptist Church and School.
