Mary Garvene Slaugh

Mary Garvene (Garbe) Slaugh age 88 of Washington, Utah, passed away on December 8, 2018 at the home of her daughter.

She was born January 11, 1930 in Manti Utah to Arnold Ferdinend Garbe and Leah Bessey Garbe. 

 She married Talmadge Grady Holcomb Jan 7, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  They later divorced.  She married Calvin Emert Slaugh June 18, 1966 in the Manti Temple, Manti, Utah.

She was raised and educated in Manti; then graduated from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and fulfilled many church callings, each to the best of her ability.

Her hobbies and interests included ceramics, lapidary, line-dancing and baking.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Doug) Peterson, Washington, UT and Pamela Kaye Slaugh, St. George, UT, her brother, Gaylen (Dixie) Garbe, Salem, UT, and her 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Calvin Slaugh Dec 25, 2009 and Son Richard C Slaugh Dec. 2, 1999.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 12:00 Noon.  A viewing will be prior to services 10:00-11:30 am at the church 1285 N. Bluff Street, St. George, UT.

Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery, Manti, Utah at 1:00 pm on Friday Dec. 14 under the direction of Hughes Mortuary St. George.
