Marlyn Donna Buys

Marlyn Donna Buys, born December 26, 1935, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Robert Coleman Shifflet and Mary Viola Ault, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023. 

She married Jay Richard Buys on July 1, 1955, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and they were later sealed in the Laie Hawaii Temple on July 1, 1960.  

Donna was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who lived a life of honor, integrity, and faithfulness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  She had a fabulous sense of humor and loved to make those around her laugh and never shied away from a good prank.  She had a servant's heart and put others' needs before her own until the day she died. 

Donna is preceded in death by her husband Jay Richard Buys, her daughter Beth Aleene Sell, her parents, and nine older siblings. She is survived by her daughter Amy Lynn Ross, sons Gary Richard Buys, Jay Alan Buys, Gregory Joseph Buys, David Dean (Susan) Buys, Robert Scott (Vera) Buys, Stevan Adam (Christine) Buys, twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty-five great-grandchildren, her sister Janice Spinuzzi, and her brother Lowell Shifflet. 

Services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 1 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 511 South Valley View Drive, St. George, Utah 84770.
