Kyle David Hanson

September 15, 1982 — August 23, 2024

Hurricane, UT

Kyle David Hanson, known for his big heart, adventurous spirit and commitment to serve others in their time of need as a first responder/paramedic, was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2021 and fought hard until losing his battle on August 23, 2024. He was born on September 15, 1982 in Torrance, CA to Judy Carter and David Hanson.

Kyle grew up in Laguna Niguel, CA, growing up, Kyle was an avid skater, all-star basketball player, and a gnarly surfer (his favorite surf spots were Salt Creek beach and 10th Street). He then moved to San Diego, CA where he developed some life long friendships, with some amazing people who stood by his side right until the end. He worked as an EMT and proceeded to graduate from Paramedic school and moved to Santa Barbara, CA. He loved his job, and was passionate about helping others. He spent his life in the ocean, until he decided to explore his other passions, snowboarding and off roading. This called him to Denver, CO. In Denver, he got his two dogs/adventure buddies, Kona and Kai. Those dogs were the loves of his life and he took them everywhere. He remained in Denver, until his diagnosis that brought him to Hurricane, UT. Over the last few years, we made some amazing memories and are grateful for the time we had with him.

Kyle deeply loved his friends and family, he also loved to travel to places like Costa Rica and Mexico, both excellent surf destinations. His love of the ocean came from his mom, Judy and his love of music came from his Dad, Dave. He learned to sing and play guitar, although few people were lucky enough to hear it. He loved Mexican food, sushi and of course Pizza. He hated stinky cheese and even numbers.

Kyle is survived by his parents, Judy and Dave Hanson (Hurricane, UT), his brother John Hanson (Duluth, MN) and his sisters, Tanya Clarke (Washington, UT) and Brittany Herber (Hurricane, UT)

Kyle was a religious man, and grew to love his church and the community that came with it, so in lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to our church in his name via Brittany Herber’s venmo: @brittanymarie19
