Kurtis George Cornish

Kurtis G. Cornish, age 79, of Washington, Utah, passed away on March 28, 2022. He was born on December 1, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah to George O. Cornish and Naomi Black Cornish. Kurtis married Lorraine Black on September 9, 1966, in the Salt Lake City Temple and they have 7 children (Richard, Seth, Jacob, and Adam Cornish, Nathan Cornish-Raley, Dawna Cornish Scheich, and Naoma Cornish Doriguzzi). Kurtis is also survived by son-in-law Christopher Cornish-Raley, and daughters-in-law Chanda Bruland Cornish, Tiffany Staggs Cornish, and Molly Polsen. Kurtis is a grandfather of 8 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.

A private family funeral and graveside service will be held with the assistance of Hughes Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please reach out and spend time with your loved ones. Relationships with family and friends were profoundly important to Kurtis. Investing in deeper connections with people and supporting them in helpful ways – these are the best ways to honor the life he tried to lead and to find the joy and peace which comes from doing so. Loving and serving others with kindness and integrity were of paramount importance to him. Kurtis’s greatest desire was to do his best to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ and to continue to grow as a child of God.
