Kimberly Anne Roundy
Kim Roundy was born March 19, 1964 in El Paso, Texas to Charles William and Sharon Anne Roof. She graduated from this life on Aug. 2, 2019 in Cedar City, Utah.
She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she loved serving in various capacities, especially working in the temple. She worked in the Cedar City Temple every week, and attended at least once a week as well.
Kim’s best friend was her daughter, Ruth. They enjoyed attending the temple, shopping, watching movies and discussing books together.
She was a prolific reader who loved books and learning. She was always studying and trying to improve herself.
Kim realized her dream of becoming a teacher when she began working at Gateway Preparatory Academy two years ago. She taught second and third grade students and had a classroom full of love and respect. She loved students and their families and welcomed the challenge of teaching her students not only academics, but also character, community and respect for diversity and difference. She was always warm and kind in her dealings with teachers, students and families, a true example of grace and courtesy. She was an important part of the school community.
Kim is survived by her mother, Sharon Anne Roof; her children, Kenneth (Corrin) Waller, Sam Waller, Joe Waller, Sean Waller, and Ruth Waller; former daughters-in-law Kaylynn Robb and Jaimee Spell; grandchildren, Joshua, Ben, Caleb, and Cara; brother, Kip (Michelle) Roof; sister, Kelly Anne (Doug) Andersen; nephews Nicholas (Emily) Andersen, Clayton (Andrea) Anderson, Hunter Andersen; her aunt Annie (Jerry) Mansbach; her uncle Ron (Shirley) Ansara; her aunt, Becky Welch; and cousins Joshua and Sara Sarkis.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles William Roof, and her grandmother Eloyse (Fred) Welch.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Homestead 2nd Ward building for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1390 E. Midvalley Road in Enoch, Utah. A family graveside service will follow.
