Kathy was born in Salt Lake City on 1 March, 1949 to Fred and Bette Esch. Kathy was the second of four children. Their father was in the military so the family moved around quite a bit. Kathy graduated from high school in Montgomery, Alabama. The family ended up in Salt Lake City, and Kathy started working for Utah Retirement Systems. There she met Bob Bond and married him on 5 June 1982. They were sealed for time and all eternity in October 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple. Bob loved the outdoors and they spent a large amount of time fishing. Lake Powell fishing was a favorite activity. They travelled to Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and Texas. Bob liked to move so they lived in Salt Lake City Utah, Summit Park Utah, LaVerkin Utah, Port Angeles Washington, Hayden Lake Idaho, Nephi Utah, and finally ending up in St George Utah. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her step-grandchildren when she had the opportunity to do so. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. Her long-time calling was doing compassionate service for Relief Society. She spent many months caring for her husband Bob during his final illness. One of her favorite hobbies was making birthday and greeting cards on the computer. She is survived by a sister Melody (Peterson), Pat (Kessler), and brother Fred Jr. She is also survived by five step-children, Marylynn (Martensen), Michael, Perry, Jeff, Jack and numerous step-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, who passed away 6 March 2021.
