Dr. Kenneth Jerome Finsand, born on August 5th, 1949, in Newberg, Oregon, left us on May 21st, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a respected chiropractor who touched the lives of many.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Mandy Finsand, with whom he shared love and companionship. He is also survived by his nine children – Jennie, Humble, Andy, KJ, Melissa, Christopher, Rachel, Mariah and Noble, also his two stepchildren Kayin and Kamin and his twenty-five grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. His love, humor and wisdom will continue to shape their lives, and his legacy will live on through the generations he leaves behind.
Kenneth served his country in the United States Navy from November 1968 to May 1970, which included deployment in the Vietnam War. He then attended and graduated from Palmer School of Chiropractic. Kenneth dedicated his professional life to helping others. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, he had a profound impact on the well-being of his patients, providing relief and comfort through his healing touch. His passion for his work was evident in the countless lives he touched and the gratitude of those who sought his care.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Kenneth had a zest for life and a love for adventure. He had an unwavering passion for motorcycles, particularly Harleys, which allowed him to feel the freedom of the open road and connect with the world around him. He found solace and joy in his rides, relishing in the wind against his face and the feeling of liberation that only a motorcycle could provide. As a quote from one of his favorite songs says, “Free as the feelin’ in the wind”.
Kenneth also had a deep affection for nature. He loved anything from camping, hiking, horseback riding, traveling the world, boating or fishing. Whether it was growing a garden, hot air ballooning or scuba diving in the ocean, he always appreciated God’s beauty and wanted to be surrounded by it. He also loved photography and always had a camera in his hands for many years, capturing as many memories as he could.
Country music held a special place in Kenneth's heart. Its melodies and lyrics resonated deeply within him, and he found comfort and inspiration in the stories told through this genre. The soothing tunes and heartfelt emotions of country music mirrored the depth of his own feelings, providing him with a soundtrack for his life.
Kenneth had a love for Hawaii and spent many years cultivating friendships and healing many patients on the islands. He embraced the island's rich culture and breathtaking landscapes. He loved being in the ocean, eating the food and enjoying the music Hawaii had to offer. Hawaii always held a special place in his heart.
Kenneth Jerome Finsand will be remembered as a compassionate and loving soul, a healer, a storyteller, a singer, and a rascal. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and strength that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
