St. George Utah – Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Kathy Rae Dalton Jones returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 30, 2021. She was born in Payson, Utah on November 11, 1946 to Raymond and Carol Dalton. She married James Ordell Jones, in the St. George Temple, September 9, 1966.
Kathy had a great love for learning, attending schools in Utah and Nevada, where she made life-long friends and many good memories. Kathy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her life she served in many callings; including Relief Society President, Stake Primary President and Primary Chorister. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, serving and assisting anyone in need. Kathy was known for her absolute honesty and teaching her children and grandchildren the importance of the principle of honesty. She could never tell a convincing lie. Kathy had a positive outlook on life, she looked at her life through “Rose-Colored glasses” and was frequently reminded to put them back on. Kathy’s greatest treasure was her family. She raised three (3) daughters and one (1) son, who adore and admire her, and to this day would do anything for her. Her most precious memories come from time spent with her family. She had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren and a way of making each of them feel like they were her favorite.
Kathy is survived by her husband of fifty-four (54) years, James Ordell Jones, who spends his time between Logandale, NV and Enterprise, UT; her children, Karen and (Mike) Roundy of St George, UT; Russell and (Michelle) Jones of Logandale, NV; Janelle and (Mike) Baker of Henderson, NV; and Melissa Andersen of Logandale, NV; her grandchildren, Shawn and (Amanda) Baker; Alex and (Dalton) Poynor, Allison and (Tyler) VonHatten, Shelby and (Tanner) Lee; Dalton Jones, Trey Jones, Destry Jones, Jonathan Roundy, Abigail Andersen, Shane Baker and Bella Andersen; her sisters, Carolyn Dalton, Salt Lake City, UT and Pat Jacobsen, Salt Lake City, UT. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Dalton, her mother Carol Dalton and brother, Ray Dalton.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah
