Cedar City, Utah – Karen Kay Baxter Tubbs, 75, passed away June 25,
2017. She was born 22 December 1941 in Susanville, California to Veryl
Bowthorpe Baxter and Elaine Etta Hess.
Some of Karen’s favorite memories as a child were in the saw mill
camps of Northern California. She also lived in Oregon, Virginia, and
Utah. Karen’s education began in a one room schoolhouse. She worked
as a court reporter contracting with the Virginia State Corporation
Commission for 20 years. Karen loves and enjoys being with her family
and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Thomas Jonathan Tubbs, of
Cedar City; 10 children, and 33 grandchildren; sisters Lynne Henshaw
of Virginia and Gail Porter of Utah, and her 100 year old mother. She
is preceded in death by her Father and 2 grandchildren.
