After a brief illness, Karen Austraw has left this life to return to her Heavenly home. Her daughters, brother, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends spent time with her in her final days. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Karen dearly loved her family and the gospel.
Karen was born in Barnwell, Alberta, Canada. Her journey through life took her to numerous homes from coast to coast, where she built memories and touched the lives of those around her. For the last two years she was served by caring staff at Ovation Sienna Hills.
A passionate fashion and beauty consultant, Karen loved applying her style expertise at every opportunity. As a teacher, she enjoyed learning and sharing her knowledge. Karen was a loyal and loving friend, and was fond of working with people. Taking the time to connect with others, her energy work healed many lives. She was a lover of music, often serving as music leader at church. Karen and her husband Dave were members of the Southern Utah Heritage Choir, singing and traveling across the world together. A gourmet cook and avid gardener, Karen often shared her herbs with local restaurants in St George.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband Dave Austraw and son Rowe Austraw. She is survived by her daughters, Maile Austraw, Lani Constandse and her brother Dave McMullin. She was profoundly blessed to have 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who brought immense pride and meaning to her life. She cherished time with all her family and friends, spending many hours doing family history. Memorial services and celebration of life will be held on January 11, 2025, 3:30pm at Ovation Sienna Hills, 1525 E Ovation Pl, Washington, Utah. Zoom link will be provided soon. She will be interred with her husband, Dave Austraw at Arlington National Cemetery.
