Julia Dawn Iverson, 61, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering determination inspired all who knew her. Though her battle was difficult, she faced it with grace, humor and an indomitable spirit.
No matter the struggle or challenge Julia faced she always remained such a compassionate, beautiful giving soul to everyone around her. Even in her final days, she was still trying to nurture others.
Julia was born on July 13, 1963, in Murray, Utah, to Horace John and Darla Covington Knowlton. She was the fifth child in a family of fifteen, growing up surrounded by the love and chaos of seven brothers and seven sisters. Julia cherished her siblings deeply: Marcia, Diane, Charles, Melody, Tony (deceased), Sean, Rachel, Norm, Wendy, Don, Renon, Brian, Iris, and Kevin. She is survived by a great many nieces and nephews who she adored and is predeceased by a special niece, Jessica.
She is also predeceased by her beloved mother and father.
Julia’s greatest pride and joy were her five children: Jennifer, Patrick, Jessica, Andrea, and Laura and Ralph's five children whom she loved dearly: Todd, Heather, Justin, Gretchen, and Brittney.
She loved and adored all her grandchildren and great grandchildren so much. She cherished the bonds that she created with each and every one of them and loved every minute she had with them.
Julia met Ralph Iverson in 1999 and was a devoted and loving wife to him since their marriage in 2002.
Ralph shared Julia's dream of country living, where they both found peace and joy in the beauty of nature. Together, they had a simple life in the beautiful home that they built together in 2006. It is in this cherished setting where her celebration of life will take place in the spring, amidst the beauty of the Pinto Mountains she loved so much. Surrounded by blooming flowers and the warmth of the sun, friends and family will gather outdoors to honor her memories, sharing stories and laughter in the place she cherished most. This gathering will be a tribute to her spirit, as the land she loved comes to life, just as she would have wanted. Details will be provided as weather permits.
In her final wishes, Julia chose to return to the earth in a truly unique way, reflecting her love for nature and the cycle of life. She will be lovingly interred in a biodegradable urn on their property there, designed to transform her remains into the roots of a tree that will grow in her honor. As the tree flourishes, so too will her memory, providing shade and beauty for generations to come, a living testament to the grace and strength she carried throughout her life.
Even though our hearts ache, we take solace in knowing that she has found her eternal joy and is with loved ones, all watching over us.
A funeral service will be held on February 15th, 2025 at 11AM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Littlefield Ward, 3260 Hwy 91, Littlefield, AZ 86432.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who supported Julia throughout her journey.
