Joyce Thatcher Webb

Joyce Thatcher Webb was born June 30th, 1931, to Percy and Naomi Thatcher of Provo, Utah. She was a beautiful and talented woman who spent her life in service to her church, family, and community.

Joyce was married to Ernest (Ernie) John Webb on July 13, 1951, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They have three children Ernest Reed Webb (Mary) Veyo, Utah, Clarise Webb Herbst (Ross) Gunlock, Utah and Bartley John Webb (Debra) Gilroy, California.

Joyce loved music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice that she shared throughout her life.

She worked as a travel agent for a short time and has enjoyed traveling throughout the world with family and friends. She had an active social life and anywhere Joyce and a few others were gathered it was a party.

Joyce's great passion though was temple and family history work. She served many years as a temple worker in both Oakland, California and St. George, Utah as well as in the St. George family history center. She served a family history mission with her husband, Ernie, in the Santiago Chile mission.

After Ernie's death in 2018, Joyce met and married Rulon Boyd Maughan, who was a great friend and companion to her. They had only one year together before his passing.

Joyce died in her home in St. George, Utah on July 29th, 2024. She is survived by her 2 brothers Stanley Thatcher (Colleen) Devar Thatcher (Charlotte) 3 children, 12 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren as well as the large Maughan Clan that are hers by love, and more friends than one can count. She will be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 17th at 11:00am at the Indian Hills Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, 1282 West 500 South Circle. Visitation will be at 10:00am at the same location. The interment will take place in the East Lawn Cemetery 4800 N. 650 E. Provo, Utah, Monday, August 19th at 12:00pm.
