Hurricane UT, Grant Thompson, 38, flew back to be with his Heavenly Parents July 29, 2019.
Grant was born in Calgary, Canada to Jim and Donna Thompson. He married Janae Christensen in 2007 in Laie Hawaii.
Grant lived the equivalent of many lifetimes in the 38 years he spent in his mortal body.
Grant was a dedicated servant to the Lord, his family, his fans, and all those he came into contact with. He served a faithful mission in the Leeds, England mission and loved the Lord with all his heart.
He is survived by his wife Janae, and their four sons Rhys (10), Riley (8), Jaymen (5), and Jayce (2), his parents Jim and Donna and his 3 brothers Mark (Sunshine), Luke, and Scott – all who adored him. He devoted his time, love, and energy to bringing them the very best of himself and lived as an example of true Christ-like service. He set an example of how to live each day to its fullest and did that every day to his last; he knew how to channel the energy of the day into bright adventures and creative activities.
Grant loved to drive big machines from trucks to buses and even spent some time on the oil rigs. He found his true love when he learned to fly airplanes and became a professional airline pilot in less than 2 years. He had an intense love for flying and not only flew for fun and work, he also loved to jump out of perfectly good airplanes. He had a successful real estate investment company that brought him energy and enthusiasm.
His next passion came from tinkering with science experiments from his inexhaustible passion he had for curiosity. He began making things, breaking things, and inventing things while capturing it all on camera and began a YouTube channel to share with the world his discoveries. It grew to currently over 11 Million followers and created a movement of backyard science and a community of tinkerers. His influence is felt everywhere, and will never be more strong than with the mother of his children and the love of his life and their 4 sons. He will be incomprehensibly missed.
Please note, the Tuesday Funeral will be for friends and family only. The family thanks you for your consideration at this time.
