JoEtta Bundy Wittwer

October 19, 1950 — January 27, 2025

St. George, UT

St. George, Utah — JoEtta Bundy Wittwer passed away peacefully in her home after a long battle with cancer in St. George, Utah surrounded by her family on January 27, 2025 at the age of 74.

JoEtta was born October 19, 1950, in Mount Trumbull, Arizona to Chester Marion Bundy and Genavieve Bundy. She was the 15th of 17 children born to the family. She attended school at the one room Mount Trumbull schoolhouse from 1st through 8th grade before moving to St. George where she lived with her grandmother and attended Dixie High School. After graduation in 1968, she attended Southern Utah Cosmetology School in Cedar City, Utah, and graduated in 1969.

She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Steven Wittwer, on October 17, 1969 in the St. George, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They began their 55 wonderful years of marriage in St. George before moving to Rock Springs, Wyoming where they raised their six children. They moved back home to St. George after retirement and enjoyed the remaining years together spending time with extended family and friends; visiting children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors of the area.

JoEtta enjoyed many hobbies including playing the piano, canning, cooking, camping, sewing, making porcelain dolls, and giving haircuts, but her greatest joy was her family. She especially loved serving her husband, her children and children-in-law, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended countless special occasions and events where she could celebrate them and their accomplishments. Her grandchildren will forever remember her sweet lullabies, her desire to spend quality time with each of them, and the genuine interest she showed when they were with her. She taught her family through her words and her example to love the Lord.

JoEtta was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in countless ways in the Relief Society, Young Womens, Primary, and Sunday School organizations along with many various music capacities throughout her life. She most recently served as a compassionate service leader.

JoEtta is survived by her husband, Steven Wittwer; daughter, Janell Flack; daughter, Janae (Keith) Blake; son, Cheston (Rena) Wittwer; daughter, Chanieca (Jeffrey) Moss; son, Welton Wittwer; son, Wyler (Zac-Nicteé) Wittwer; son-in-law, Bart Flack; daughter-in-law, Stacy Wittwer; sister, Lynna Rue (Mike) Shafer; sister, Bonnie (Allen) McAlister; sister, CloElla (Dan) Polatis; and brother, Mark (Leslie) Bundy; sisters-in-law Norma Jean Bundy and Connie Bundy.
