Jodi Ann Pickett Pearson, stepped through the veil and into the arms of her loving parents on June 6, 2024. Our mother and grandmother was loved by all, as she shared her life in service to others.
Born August 20, 1956, in Salt Lake City to John David Pickett and Verna Pickett. Jodi married Brad Pearson on October 26, 1979, and they were later sealed for eternity in the Jordan River Temple on February 14, 1997.
Jodi was known for her selflessness and unwavering support of her family. Her life was a testament to her deep love for her children and grandchildren, always putting their needs above her own.
Her family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her husband, Brad Pearson, and her children and their spouses: Brodie Pearson (Jodi), Kyle Pearson (Ashley), Clete Pearson (Kristine), and Becca Hadley (Josh). Her grandchildren, Nya Pearson, Wyatt Pearson, Roren Pearson, Luke Pearson, Hudson Hadley, Harper Hadley, Piper Pearson, Hayden Hadley, and Jackson Pearson were the light of her life.
Jodi was raised in Salt Lake City and attended college at Dixie State and Brigham Young University, where she excelled in sports such as basketball, softball, and volleyball. Her passion for sports continued throughout her life as she became an avid supporter of her children’s and grandchildren's athletic endeavors, rarely missing a game. Her presence on the sidelines, cheering them on, was a constant source of encouragement and pride. Jodi cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, delighting in their achievements and rejoicing in their smiles.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jodi served faithfully in various church callings, including as a dedicated minister, frequently visiting those she was assigned to serve. She dedicated countless hours to preparing Sunday school lessons and involving her children in church service. Additionally, Jodi was actively involved in the scouting program, serving as a den leader and assisting her children in achieving their Eagle Scout awards.
Her commitment to her faith was steadfast. She led by example, and her children often found her reading her scriptures early in the morning. Most recently, she served as a temple worker at the Red Cliffs Utah Temple, where she found great joy in serving within the house of the Lord. The day before her passing, she served in the temple, and expressed to others how much she cherished this opportunity.
With a green thumb and a love for nature, Jodi spent hours perfecting landscapes and enjoying outdoor activities. She loved riding her bike and baking. Her numerous talents and passions were remarkable, yet her kindness and knack for seeing the best in others were her standout qualities. Jodi was truly kind-hearted and consistently saw the positive in everyone she met.
Jodi would want to be remembered as a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, someone who tried to emulate His example in the way she lived her life. Her faithfulness was evident in all she did, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her.
