Enterprise, UT – Joan Renee Leonesio, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at her residence. She was born on June 15, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Elwood and Vera Proctor Meredith.

Joan embarked on a journey of love and commitment when she married and was sealed for time and eternity to Frank Leonesio on August 25, 1961, in the Los Angeles Temple, a sacred moment that held deep significance in their lives. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership.

Throughout her life, Joan touched the hearts of those around her with her warmth and kindness. She spent her formative years in Denver, Colorado, and completed her senior year of high school in Orinda, CA. Joan pursued her education at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, and later embarked on a career as a dental assistant. Later in life, she transitioned to become an optician, where she continued to provide care and assistance to those in need.

Joan possessed a zest for life and found joy in the simple pleasures it offered. She had a passion for travel and immersed herself in the captivating world of murder mysteries through her love of reading. Joan's nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional endeavors; she took great pride in creating a beautiful and inviting home for her cherished friends and family. Her green thumb was evident in the lush variety of plants that adorned her front windows, a reflection of her nurturing nature and love for life's natural beauty.

One of Joan's greatest joys was her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they brought immense happiness to her life. Sunday dinners, surrounded by the laughter and love of family, were cherished moments for Joan. These gatherings epitomized her deep love and commitment to her family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Joan leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her five daughters, Deby Otterson of Orem, UT; Diane Leonesio of Washington, UT; Cindy Leonesio of Washington, UT; Elena Puffer (Todd Puffer) of Washington, UT; and Alicia Thomas (Landon Thomas) of Enterprise, UT. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Funeral services are private and will be held in St. George, UT. Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary, 1037 E 700 S, St. George, UT.

In honoring Joan's memory, let us find solace in the love she shared and the memories she created. Though she may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
