Jerry Young

Jeremiah (Jerry) Morgan Young, 26, passed away, surrounded by loved ones on August 6, 2023. Born to Carl Leslie Young and Permelia Jane Johnson on February 1, 1997, in Hildale, Utah, Jerry touched many lives and never failed to brighten any room he entered with his infectious laugh and ear-to-ear grin. Born six months after the passing of his father, Jerry was raised by Edson Jessop in a large and loving family, he enjoyed playing tag with his brothers, making bird traps, and took it upon himself to keep the mood light and lively.

Jerry moved from Colorado City, AZ to Park City, UT at the age of 21 to work for his brother’s framing company and soon after moved back to his hometown, continuing to work for his brother in the following years. Jerry rapidly made friends and was always well known for his sense of humor and easy-going demeanor. Jerry is survived by his mothers, Permelia Jane Johnson, May Johnson, Zavenda Johnson, Sara Louise Johnson, Elaine Johnson, adoptive father Edson Jessop, and 64 brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Leslie Young and nephew, Ammon Jessop. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Holm Heritage Center in Hildale, UT.

Public viewings will be held at the Holm Heritage Center on August 11, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and August 12, 2023 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at the Isaac Carling Memorial Cemetery immediately following the service.
