Ila Klingonsmith Robinson, 86, was called home from this earthly life on May 12, 2017. Ila came into this world on July 14, 1930, the 7th of 8 children born to Moroni D. Klingonsmith and Lois Joice Ashworth Klingonsmith. She lived her entire life in Cedar City, Utah. She spent her youth hiking the foothills, working on her father’s farm and hanging out with cousins and friends on the east side of town. At the age of 16 she met the love of her life, Floyd James Robinson, a returned WWII sailor. They were married July 3, 1947 in Cedar City Utah and later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on January 16, 1982. She graduated from Cedar High School and then started a family. In 1949 they welcomed a daughter, Floyejean followed by sons; Dennis Ray, Russell Dee, and Kevin Floyd.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served for many years in the Primary organization, ward librarian, and in the Scouting program. In 2001 she was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, one of the highest Scouting awards. She had a love for genealogy and spent many hours doing research on her own family line and helping others. She had a heart of gold and would do anything she could to help others, even if she had to do without. She worked many years beside her husband and children in the Hide and Metal Recycling Business. Together Ila and Floyd taught their children the value of honest and hard work. Her greatest treasure was her family and time spent with them was her greatest love.
Ila is survived by her son Kevin Floyd (Tamara), 13 Grandchildren, and 27 Great Grandchildren, and one more on the way, Sister Carma McColloch, 3 Sister-in-Laws, and many Nieces and Nephews.
Ila is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Floyd, sons Dennis and Russell, daughter Floyejean, and grandson Tony.
