Harley Bret Atkinson, son of Bret and Christy Atkinson, passed away on February 24, 2024, with his parents by his side, in Beaver Dam, Arizona. Born on May 19, 1990, Harley's time with us was filled with his unique sense of humor, teasing, love, and countless cherished memories. Harley leaves behind a legacy of love for his sons, Kannin and Karson Atkinson, family, many friends, and his loyal companion, his dog Stan.
A gifted athlete from a young age, Harley's prowess on the field and in the rodeo arena was unmatched. Throughout his high school years, he astounded spectators with his athletic abilities, earning numerous championship titles in rodeo. His determination, skill, and passion for sports inspired all who knew him. He could do anything he set his mind to doing.
Beyond his athletic achievements, Harley was a hardworking individual who found fulfillment in his work as a lineman. He took pride in his craftsmanship and enjoyed the challenges of working on projects across the country, leaving behind a mark of excellence wherever he went.
In his leisure time, Harley enjoyed snowboarding, boating and water surfing, gardening, watching NASCAR, hockey, and football, sharing in the excitement of competition with family and friends. His enthusiasm for these sports was infectious, bringing joy to those around him. He had an opinion about everything and his way was always the right way.
Harley is survived by his parents, Bret and Christy Atkinson; his beloved sons, Kannin and Karson; his sisters, Shelby Miles and Mindy (Colby) Swenson; his grandparents, Ed and Kathy Sorenson, and Kae Atkinson; as well as his nephews, Hagen, Jack, and Dylan ,and nieces, Addi and Eisley. He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Farrell Atkinson, uncle and friend Tyson and many other friends and family.
Harley will be remembered for his wit and humor, kind heart, his unwavering determination, and his love for his family. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Harley's life will be held at an Open House on Sunday, March 10th at the Red Barn, 4300 No. State RD. 32, in Oakley at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in his honor.
Rest in peace, Harley. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
