Greg Bounds, age 61 passed away in his home on Friday June 9th, 2023. He was born in Los Angeles, California to Jim and Diana (Herzog) Bounds on June 26th, 1961.
Greg immediately showed interest in cars as a kid, and it quickly became an integral part of his life. He became one of the greatest Cadillac specialists in Southern California with dozens of certifications.
He married Yvonne Morris in 1982, they had three children together and divorced shortly after their youngest was born. His parents moved to St.George, Utah in 1991 and he followed them a few years later. He rekindled an old flame and married Jackie Hayes in 1999. They had one daughter together.
He worked for Stephen Wade until he was unable to work due to his disabilities. Greg was a Cancer and he had an outgoing and spunky personality. He would talk anyone’s ear off if given the chance. He was featured in numerous car magazines in 1987 for his notable work swapping engines in S-10 Blazers and Jimmy's. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids and helping out anyone who needed a favor with their car. He became a mobile mechanic in his later years and had everything you could imagine in his trunk. Greg was an unforgettable man and will be missed by all that knew him.
Greg is survived by his Son, Joseph Bounds of St. George, Utah. Daughter, Kristin Bounds of St. George, Utah. Daughter, Kelly (Glen) Cannon of Mohave Valley, Arizona. Grandchildren: Jenna Bounds, Kaili O’Connor, Hayden Mitchell and Morgan Cannon. Great Grandchildren: Jaxin and Jozee Bounds and 1 on the way. Sister, Denise (Dave) Cox of Tehachapi, California. Brother, Gil (Lisa) Bounds of St. George, Utah. He is preceded in death by his parents, his oldest daughter, Jennifer Bounds and her Mother.
Celebration of life will be June 26th, 2023 at the Tonaquint Cemetery Pavilion at 7:00 PM. 1777 S Dixie Dr, St George, UT 84770
Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary, 1037 E 700 S. St. George, Utah, 435-674-5000
