George Michael Robins

IVINS, UTAH

George Michael Robins, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, age 70, returned to the arms of our Loving Heavenly Father, Monday, May 2, 2016. He was born December 8, 1945 in Long Beach, CA to John Lester and Beatrice Scott Robins. He was sealed to the love of his life, Ruth G. Hartley, January 26, 1968 in the Los Angeles Temple for time and all eternity.

Mike was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. At age 19 he served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Toronto Ontario Canada Mission (1964-66). He served for 22 years in the military (USAF). After retiring from the military he and his family moved to Santa Clara, Utah. He was an electrician for 17 years. Mike enjoyed working and he taught each one of his children the value of work. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held many different callings in the church. But his greatest calling was that of a father. He loved his children with all his heart and also his grandchildren. He demonstrated kindness and patience throughout his life and was a friend to everyone he met. “He is a loved one, and will be missed”.

Mike is survived by his wife Ruth, Ivins, UT; daughters Lisa (Aaron) Svedin, Ivins, UT, Kimberly (Danny) White, Hurricane, UT, Tammi Hughes, St. George, UT, Jeff Hughes, St. George, UT; sons Justin (Rachel) Robins, St. George, UT, and Jason (Shalon) Robins, Washington, UT, 19 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild; sisters Patricia Clark, Santa Clara, UT and Cathleen (Howard) Shaffer, St. George, UT.
