Our sweet Daddy, Francis Marion Allen, traded his well worn overalls for his Heavenly robes & returned home into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father, June 4 2020. Francis “Marion” was born October 21, 1922 the 10th of 12 children born to Marion Devalson & Laura Porter Allen.
Marion was a serious child, which turned him to his love for learning. He learned his love of gardening & nature and all things fishing and hunting from his parents and he in turn passed that love to his children & grandchildren. Marion tells anyone who would listen that his luckiest day was the day he met our Beautiful Mother LaRae and after 9 beautiful, romantic months, LaRae & Marion married on Oct, 21,1942 in the Manti LDS Temple.
May 25, 1946 LaRae delivered Twins. Their daughter Stephanie was Stillborn and son, Steven, lived 10 days. Later their broken hearts were healed with the arrival of their daughter Jolene. Marion & LaRae filed adoption papers in 1966 for 3 sisters, Sylvia, Cecelia & Rosie, bringing the girls to their forever home in Kingston. With a desire for a fishing partner and getting sore fingers from baiting all those fishing hooks for his new daughters, Marion & LaRae adopted their son Michael in 1973.
Daddy loved helping on the family dairy farm but after 25 years of farm living Daddy moved his family to Utah county - 1st to Orem and then his little slice of heaven in Lindon where daddy's love of fruit trees started.
Daddy worked at the American Fork training center until retirement. Then Daddy & Mom served a mission in 1988 in Jacksonville, Mississippi. Upon their return from Mississippi, Daddy & Mom worked as care takers at Cove Fort Utah for 2 years. Then they chose to spend their twilight years in beautiful LaVerkin where they have lived for the last 28 years.
Marion is survived by his eternal companion of 77 years, LaRae Griffin Allen, daughter's Jolene (Larry) Bundy, Sylvia (John) Sears, Cecelia( Don) De St Jeor, Rosie (Kevin)Tippetts, son Michael (Rachelle) Allen,19 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren. Marion is preceded in death by his Parents,11 Brothers & Sisters, Children, Stephanie & Steven Allen, Grandson's Kelly Bundy, Joshua D Sorenson, Great-grand daughter Shaylee Rose Johnson.
