Finn Duane Stubbs

January 27, 2012 — October 3, 2023

Hurricane, UT

Hurricane, Utah - Finn Duane Stubbs, 11 years old, passed away Tuesday October 3rd, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 27th, 2012 in Rochester Minnesota to Daniel and Pamela Stubbs.

Finn lived 100 lives in the short 11 years he walked this earth.  Born with a trach defect at birth, Finn lived a life of defeating the odds. Finn spent the first 2 years of his life showing everyone the superhero he was born to be.  Shortly after his birth Finn received a tracheotomy to help sustain his life as doctors and specialists worked hard to find the best options for him.  During these intense first years Finn sailed through the challenges with smiles, giggles and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse blaring in his hands.

Finn throughout his life just "did" never complaining, never giving up and making the world a better place.  in 2016 Finn made it through a hopeful miracle surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital to remove his tach and give him a whole new leash on life.  After an intense surgery, lots of prayers and God's hands, Finn was TRACH FREE.  Prayers had been answered and once again Finn just "did".  His specialist reported that he is the only person in his specialty knowledge to have 4 slide tracheoplasties ever.  The doctors were in awe, but all of us that knew & loved Finn knew he always did the impossible.

Finn went on to bless all those he met. You could always find him saying "hi" and asking if you wanted to come to his house.  He loved to joke and call everyone "jerks" with his toothy grin as he smiled and walked away.  He loved with no limits or bias, he showed the world the true meaning of loving like Christ does.

Finn went on to do all things kid!  He played soccer, camped, loved to ride 4 wheeler's with his brother Chandler, loved boating, riding scooters, drinking root beer, playing with grandma's cane, and ALWAYS had a phone in his hand.  Water was a favorite thing with Finn, he could be in water and never get board.  When it came time to get out there always seemed to be "negotiations" when it time to call it done. All that fun in the end Finn's all time favorite thing to do was DANCE!  He had great moves that he shared with anyone around him.  Finn asked his principal at school to make everyday Friday "Dance" day that makes things better.

Finn always included those around him, watched over people especially little kids, he set a standard that everyone chased and he did with ease.  He loved stickers, games, playing with his dogs, going to work with Dad, snuggling with mom, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and eating noodles and tomatoes.

God blessed us with Finn, but even better God blessed Finn with his family.  Finn's family lived for him.  Finn was 100 mph and his family never flinched and always matched his pace.  You could always find Finn's family playing with him, doing things that made him smile, teaching & helping him grow. By doing this Finn's family made Finn's world a better place.  His family are angels on earth and because of them Finn lived his best life ever.

As the world becomes a little quieter & less bright without Finn here we find comfort that we know is "Finning" it up in heaven.  Heaven is a little busier and a lot brighter because he's there.  Although our hearts have big hole where Finn was, we couldn't be more blessed to call him ours.

Finn joined his grandmother Rebecca "Becky" Carlson and so many other family and friends that we love and miss.  We can't imagine the joy, tears & dancing that is going on in heaven right now.  We challenge everyone to be a little more like Finn and just "do".  We love and miss you Finn.  Keep dancing Finn and watch over us until we meet again.

He is survived by his Parents Daniel and Pamela as well as his brothers Baily Stubbs (Emily Stubbs), Alexander Stubbs, Skyler Stubbs, Chandler Stubbs and his sister Adilyn Stubbs. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 12th, viewing at 10 AM with the funeral to follow at 1130 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel at 272 S 700 W in Hurricane Utah.
