Fae Sanders Gibson

CEDAR CITY UTAH - Fae Sanders Gibson, 91, of Cedar City Utah, passed away on
Saturday April 11, 2020. She was born October 28, 1928 in LaVerkin Utah to
Moroni Sanders and Mildred (Millie) Zabriskie Sanders. She married the love of
her life, Rodney R. Gibson on February 14, 1946. They were married 42 years
before Rodney passed away.
Fae was a hardworking, strong willed woman and a heck of a farmer. She farmed
the land at Pages Ranch and Quitchapa in the 70's while raising 2 children. Her
grandkids loved hearing the stories of what a good shot she was, she could pop
the heads off of pheasant from her bedroom window and how they would poach
the deer out of the hay fields. Mom did the shooting because it had to be a head
shot with a 22 so there wasn't too much noise and only Fae was that good! She
also was a fantastic crocheter and man she was fast. She could crotchet anything
but when the curtains got too heavy for the curtain rods we had to ask her just to
make afghans. She loved watching her beloved Utah Jazz, loved her children and
grandchildren and loved her dogs. We're not sure how little Buddy is going to do
without her.
Fae was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney R. Gibson; her parents,
Moroni and Millie Sanders; her siblings, Verl Sanders, Alda Sanders Jones, and
Mildred Sanders Lee.
Fae is survived by her daughter Misty Cheek, son-in-law Dennis Cheek of Enoch
Utah, their children Chansen (Caitlin) Cheek of Heber City Utah, Haylee Cheek of
Las Vegas Nevada, Angelle Cheek of Cedar City Utah, Marie Cheek of Nesbit
Mississippi and Lori Cheek Laubach of Hornlake Mississippi; And Fae's son Craig
Gibson, his children Stoney (Rick) Davies of Henderson Nevada and Clint Gibson of
Las Vegas Nevada; along with 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Fae will be laid to rest in Hurricane, Utah next to her husband at a future date to
be announced when details are available.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary.
