Elise Lauren Thomas, age 36, passed away on the first day of spring, March 21, 2025.
Spring symbolizes new beginnings an awakening. How appropriate for our little angel to leave this earthly life on a day of re-birth.
She was born to Stephen and Leslie Thomas in 1988 in Denver, Colorado. She is the second oldest of six. She is the first Granddaughter on both sides and the first girl to be born on her fathers side in 27 years. To say she was beloved would be an understatement.
Elise was born with a rare disorder called Kabuki Syndrome. Her life was full of challenges that might have limited others, yet she never allowed those challenges to define her. Her love and compassion for all she knew reminded us all of the beauty in life's simplest moments.
She loved crafts, scrapbooking, and coloring beautiful pictures (she was especially good at this). She loved word search, we believe that finding words to circle on a page allowed her to find the words on paper that she couldn't find in her mind. If Elise overheard anyone saying that someone was sad, or sick, she would say, "I'll make them a card." and she did, even if she didn't know them, even if the recipient didn't receive it. She would aways have a stack of colored paper with "Get well soon" in her handwriting in her pile of treasures.
Elise's sudden passing came as an unexpected shock, leaving a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and caregivers. Yet even in her absence, her legacy remains. She showed us that true strength is found not in overcoming every obstacle, but in embracing life fully despite them.
Elise's life was a tapestry woven with moments of quiet triumph, steadfast love, and an unspoken understanding that every small act of kindness has a profound impact.
As we remember our beautiful Daughter, Sister, Granddaughter, Niece, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend, her life was lived with immense grace and dignity. Her example encourages us to look beyond our own limitations, to value every expression of love and care, and to find the beauty even in the most unexpected places.
She is survived by her Father and Mother Stephen and Leslie Thomas, and her siblings; Chris Thomas (Esthefany), Dallen Thomas (Madison), Ashton Coop (Kolbee), Brynn Stahle (Stephen), and Hayden Thomas.
She is preceded in death by; Earl Thomas (Grandfather), William David Jensen Jr. (Uncle), Mark Thomas (Uncle), and Crystal Thomas (Aunt).
