Dona Sue Garner “Molpher” of St. George, Utah passed away peacefully May 15, 2024. Dona was born in Anaheim, California to Vera (Bee) and Orval Starmer. She spent her childhood years in Anaheim and graduated from high school there. Dona married Kent Arlen Garner in 1957 and raised four children. In 1965 the family moved from Anaheim to Fallbrook, California where they had a horse ranch and raised and showed Morgan horses and grew naval oranges. This had always been a dream of Dona’s and they spent 10 wonderful years there.
In 1974 Kent got a job in the oil fields and the family started a new adventure in Tehran, Iran. A memory Dona cherished. Dona and Kent divorced and she moved with the children back to Fallbrook. Dona got a job at Bank of America in Fallbrook and after the children left home she moved to Placentia, CA and worked in outside sales until she retired. She enjoyed walking her beloved dog in the parks around Orange County, riding her bike, and playing cards with the neighbors.
She moved to St. George, Utah in 2020 to be closer to family where she spent her remaining years. She is preceded in death by her bother Larry Starmer, her parents Orval and Bee Starmer, and her grandson Eric Williams. Dona is survived by her four children: Laurie and her husband Carl, Lynette Ewer, Kent Garner and his wife Lisa, Leanne Collazzo and her husband Ed as well as five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held June 1, 2024 at 10:00 at the Tonaquaint Cemetery, St George.
