A graveside service will be held on Friday April 8, 2022 for DiAnn Hall Simkins, age 70, who passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in St. George, Utah.
She was born November 17, 1951 and grew up in Hurricane, Utah. After graduating from Hurricane High School, she attended The Continental College of Beauty in Salt Lake City, and became an excellent hairdresser. Upon completion of beauty school, DiAnn moved back to Southern Utah and attended floral school. She worked at Cameo Florist and enjoyed arranging flower bouquets and working with weddings. DiAnn attended Dixie College, when she met and married Kenneth Simkins. They were married in the St. George Temple in 1978 and became parents to two children, Nickolas and Jodi Simkins.
While living in St. George, she was a loving mother not only to her own children but to many of their friends who needed her listening ear and caring heart. DiAnn also loved tending her two grandchildren, Taylor and Kolby Simkins, and was recently blessed to welcome a great-granddaughter, Knoxlynn, into the family. DiAnn also considered Tiauna and Lex Bundy to be part of her family, and she counted their daughter Aspen to be one of her own granddaughters. DiAnn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as a Primary teacher and as a music director.
She is preceded in death by her son, Nick Simkins, her sister Mary Eleanor Hall, and parents Keith and Wazel J Hall. She is survived by Kenneth Simkins, her daughter Jodi Simkins, her brother and his wife KL and LaRee Hall of Hurricane, Utah, her sisters and their husbands: Darrow and Dallan Jessen of New Harmony, Utah, Tauna and Wilfred Navalta of Hilo, Hawaii, and Karolee and Scott Talbot of Washington, Utah.
She will be greatly missed by many cousins, friends, family and loved ones.
Graveside services will be held at the Hurricane, Utah City cemetery, 255 E. 600 N. on Friday April 8, at 11:00 A.M. If inclement weather, the services will be moved to the chapel located at 155 E. 1050 N. There will not be a viewing.
