Derrick had a passion for the culinary arts and enjoyed teaching his family and friends his cooking techniques. He loved to read and entertain people with his extensive knowledge of “little known facts and trivia”. He was an artist, author and an amazing cake, fruit and appetizer decorator. His artistic ability was displayed in everything he did.
He was loved by everyone who knew him because of his fin wit, knowledge of people, places, things and the strange facts that no one could know but him. He had a select set of friends from his early years that he treasured to this last day.
He has returned to his Father in Heaven to be reunited with his eldest son Bryant Joseph Gilbert.
