Dennis Nephi Darger

Dennis Nephi Darger, 71, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was born August 20, 1952 in Salt Lake City, UT to David Brigham and Celesta Robertson Darger.

He was the eleventh child of his mother’s children. He was raised in Short Creek, Arizona. He graduated from Southern Utah University in 1981, then taught school for the next twenty years in the third and fifth grades. Throughout his life, he was a respected school teacher, volunteer firefighter, drywall finisher, accountant, computer programmer, and entrepreneur, starting several businesses that are still providing employment and services to this day. He served on many boards and in many civic functions. He played in the local band, sang in the choir, and was involved in community entertainment and projects. Most importantly, he was a wonderful father and he lived what he believed. He always had a smile and an encouraging word.

His is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his wife Fiona, and his children: Jennifer, Heather, Joy, Dennis, Nathan, Wesley, Nephi, Jacob, Taylor, Bobbie, Kayla, Amber, Sadie, Finley, Leah, Bryce, Missie, Amanda, Vivian, twenty-three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, two brothers: Darryl and Brent, four sisters: Colleen, Carol, Ellen, Elaine and numerous other brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and five brothers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1184 N. Dixie Downs Road, St. George, Utah. There will be a viewing from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Isaac Carling Memorial Park. Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary.
