Denise Olson Daniels

June 26, 1958 — March 18, 2025

St. George, UT

Denise Olson Daniels, age 66, passed away March 18th, 2025. She was born June 26th, 1958 in Midvale, Utah to Wayne Gardner Olson and Shirley Steadman. She married William Allen Daniels on March 20th, 1982 in Sandy, Utah.

Denise was the youngest of three and grew up in Midvale, Utah. She attended Copperview Elementary, Midvale Jr. High School, and Hillcrest High School. She was very active from an early age, excelling in volleyball and basketball and later enjoyed many adventures in the mountains with her lifelong best friend and second cousin, Maryjo. Mom and Maryjo had a nickname growing up, Geesy and Goosy, that has carried on through the years, of which we still use to this day. (Honk, honk!) After devoting her time raising her children she later found a passion for psychology and learning how the mind works and received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Utah State University. She worked a few jobs before finally ending on a custodial position with Utah Tech University where she met many great friends who she deeply cared for.

Our sweet and beautiful mom loved all dogs, hers especially. They had an extremely close bond and she gave him the best life she could while lovingly doting on him. She loved to crochet in her free time and has provided her family and friends with wash cloths and various other crocheted items over the years. She always thought she wasn't artistically inclined but her crocheting skills, painted brick decorative homes, and her various articles of sewing projects down to barbie clothes and a full tailored suit for her dad just prove how talented and thoughtful our wonderful mother was. She was an extremely kind and generous soul that wanted to help anyone she met. She always said if she were rich she wouldn't be, because she would give it to those in need. Mom also loved to play a variety of card and board games, and particularly loved Yahtzee and Phase 10. She loved to spend time with her family and we will always cherish those memories of her.

She will be sorely missed by her husband William Allen Daniels, her children Erik (Monica) Daniels, Colton (Shianne) Daniels, Kelle Daniels, Porter (Robyn) Daniels, Emma Daniels and her seven grandchildren; her sister Kathleen (Paul) Sorenson; her brother Robert (Susan) Olson as well as numerous relatives, in laws and friends. She is preceded in death by her Father Wayne Gardner Olson and her mother Shirley Steadman White.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, please reach out to her family for further details. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite non-profit organization Best Friends @ bestfriends.org.
