David Bob Hanks, 70, great-great-grandson of pioneer Ephraim K. Hanks, passed away June 11, 2022 in St. George Utah, surrounded by family and loved ones.
David was born April 20, 1952 in Vernal, Utah to Percy George Hanks and Agnes Marie Pope. Though he lived in various places throughout Utah and the southwest, he considered Enterprise, Utah his home. There was nowhere else in the world he wanted to be more than his own home in Enterprise.
David is survived by son Jeremy Hanks of Elko, Nevada, son Nathan (Summer) Hanks of St. George Utah, daughter Monica Salmond of St. George, Utah, grandchildren Kylie Jackson, Jaydin Hanks, Jennifer Hanks, Jason Hanks, Ethan Hanks, Braxton Weller, Mickayla Hanks, Natalie Hanks, and Nathan Hanks and many loving brothers, sisters, and extended family.
Throughout his life, David had many jobs and owned businesses but most enjoyed farming and ranching. He loved working for Holt Farms until his health would no longer permit it. David also enjoyed hunting and fishing and would participate whenever he had the opportunity and was always generous with his material possessions.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. June 18, 2022, at the Enterprise Stake Center 100 South Center Street, Enterprise Utah 84725, with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the Enterprise Cemetery.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Hanks, 2033 S 730 W, St. George Utah, 84770.
