In loving memory of our dear beloved father and grandfather David Allen Cook. He was born June 6, 1941 to Alfonzo Laker Cook and Clela Stokes Johnson. He passed away October 7, 2023.
When dad was 2 years old his mother Clela married Warren Elmer Johnson, whom he called his Pa. He was the wonderful father that raised him up to always put God first in all things and to love your neighbors as yourself. He lived this way every day!
He married Martha Thomas in the year 1972. They had 9 beautiful children together. She helped him study for his plumbing test in 1973. He struggled in reading due to the time he was going to school. They did not have phones, so he was not sure how the words were supposed to sound. When he went to take the state test for plumbing, they let mother read him the test! He was very brilliant and passed with flying colors.
In 1975 he became a very great plumber. Working in Salt Lake for about 8 years, then worked on the Page power plant for 10 years. He then worked closely with his wonderful friend, Uncle Fred M Jessop, doing the plumbing in a lot of the homes in Hildale and Colorado City, as well as schools and community centers.
He has left behind 8 beautiful children, 24 beautiful grandchildren, and 2 beautiful great-grandchildren.
