Danna Mae Hafen Cannon of Las Vegas, Nevada, 66, passed on from this life after a valiant fight with cancer on October 15, 2016 surrounded by her loved ones. Danna was born on May 20, 1950 in St. George, Utah. She was the oldest daughter of Daniel Roy Hafen and Alta Mae Nielsen Hafen. Danna grew up in Santa Clara, Utah where she graduated from Dixie High School in 1968. After high school, Danna attended Dixie College for a short time and then moved to Provo where she attended beauty school. While in beauty school Danna met and married D. Scott Cannon on December 29, 1971 in the St George LDS Temple. After Scott and Danna were married they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they have resided and raised their family. Danna worked for Clark County School District for 28 years where she assisted with special-needs children. Danna enjoyed life to the fullest always having a positive outlook. Danna loved any time spent with her family, near and far, cooking, camping, going to the family cabin in Pinto, hosting parties, especially on the Fourth of July and Super Bowl Sunday. Her cooking will be one of her greatest legacies as she never let anyone leave hungry. She loved spending time throughout the years with her friends, especially her high school friends who still got together for girl's trips and fun times. Danna was a faithful member or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in various positions, including RS President, Primary President and served with the young women for many years, including a camp leader for over 25 years. She prized the years spent with the girls at camp, especially the years she spent hosting it at the family cabin. Danna was truly one of a kind. She treasured her family and friends, and she always treated everyone she met with love and compassion. She was a friend to everyone she met and an example to all. Danna’s true calling in life was wife, mother and grandmother. She was the best of the best. Danna is survived by her husband Scott, children Christie Starks (Donnie), Camie DeVoge (Neil), Derek Cannon (Mindy) and Crystal Higbee (Wayne) and nine grandchildren whom she adored and loved with all her heart. Danna is preceded in death by her parents and son David. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Christy and Harris LDS Chapel, 1001 North Christy Lane, Las Vegas NV. Visitations will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Christy and Harris Chapel and Saturday an hour prior to services. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara, Utah Cemetery.
