Bonnie J Chynoweth, 86, daughter of Harry and Louise Pepper, passed from this life on August 27, 2019. She came into this world on December 19,1932 and was raised in Salt Lake City. She married Melvin “Bud” Bingham in 1955, later divorced. She had 3 children, Randy, Shawna and David when, in 1968, she married Charles “Chuck” Riley Jr, who had one child, Kelly, and together they lived a happy life, raising their family until he died in 1990. She married E. Perry Chynoweth in 1999, whom she dearly loved until her death.
Mom lived a simple life. She loved traveling, crocheting, the Utah Jazz and dancing but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will sadly miss the 3 more coming.
She is survived by her husband, Perry; children, Randy and Serena Bingham (Salt Lake City, UT), Royce and Shawna Haakenson (St George,UT), David and Jackie Bingham (Beaver Dam Az), Mark and Kelly Henderson (Beaver Dam Az); 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; brother Gerald Preston; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Chuck; sister Carole; brothers Wayne and Robert.
The family would like to acknowledge the owners and staff of The Haven at Sky Mountain Assisted Living Center in Hurricane Utah. Thank you for creating mom’s “ Happy Place” for the last 3 months of her life and giving her her “sparkle”. Our gratitude is beyond measure.
Thank you also to the team of Intermountain Health Care Hospice nurses and The Haven nurses for keeping mom comfortable during her last days.
We will have a celebration of Bonnie’s life at Hughes Mortuary in St George on Tuesday, September 10th from 12-2 pm where family and friends can come visit and share a special memory. Bonnie requested casual dress, as she “hated dressing up for these things”.
There will also be a graveside prayer and interment in Salt Lake City at Memorial Estates on Redwood Rd in Salt Lake City on Tuesday September 17 at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Memory Matters at www.memorymattersutah.org or 435-319-0407
