Hurricane, Utah - Beverly passed away May 24, 2024, from a myriad of health complications, primarily heart failure. Her love of God and family was genuine and unerring, as was her love for her eternal sweetheart of more than 50 years, Kenneth Austin Mangelson. Ken preceded her in death nine years ago this Friday. Together they served LDS missions at the humanitarian center in St. George, Utah and at the Family History Center in Colorado and Hurricane, Utah. With a passion for sewing and quilting, Bev created keepsakes for her family, in addition to donating numerous handmade items to charities throughout the years. With her serene and peaceful disposition, Bev taught not only her 5 children, but also grade schoolers, church youth, grandchildren and great grand children. She loved to read and endlessly learn. While Bev had various career
opportunities and other endeavors, her devotion was to family and raising children. Bev is survived by her 5 children: Michael, Laurie, David, Robert and Stephen. She was born to Hal LeRoy Johnson and Alta Geniel Stevens on November 19, 1939. Bev graduated from Olympus High School in May of 1957. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah on June 5, 1961. She married Ken in the Salt Lake City temple on August 14, 1964. Bev is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 29, at 2:00 p.m. at The Haven at Sky Mountain, 2192 West 100 North,
Hurricane Utah. Arrangements will be made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary (435) 674-5000.
