Betty Lou Ella Tamasy (Tomlinson) a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, at the age of 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Saint George Utah on October 19th at 3:33 pm.
Betty Lou was born to Hilda Elizabeth Ashman and Kenneth Irving Tomlinson on August 29th 1937. She was one of nine siblings and was raised with love and laughter.
Betty Lou is proceeded in death by her late husband, Steven Alexander Tamasy. They were married in 1955 and built a life filled with family and memories. Together they raised three children, the late Steven Craig (2019) Julie Annedora (Daniels) and Kenneth Grant.
Betty Lou dedicated herself to her family, nurturing them with unconditional love and support.
A resident of Huntington Beach California for many years, Betty Lou moved to Saint George Utah 15 years ago to be closer to her daughter and to enjoy watching her family grow. An avid learner and researcher she had a passion for genealogy, as well as studying many religions. She had a green thumb for house plants and always had many around her. She enjoyed thrift store shopping and often uncovered hidden treasures. Her career included roles as a pre school teacher, a nurse and as a devoted housewife and neighborhood mother.
Betty Lou faced life's challenges with grace and courage having bravely survived breast cancer 25 years ago.
Known for her very friendly demeanor and wise counsel Betty Lou was a beloved listener who always offered perfect advice to those that sought her guidance.
Betty Lou leaves behind her daughter Julie, her son Kenneth, her granddaughters Robyn Mae and Brooke Lynn, and her great granddaughters Addie Mae and Harlow Jae as well as her remaining siblings.
