Our beloved Mike Snyder, passed away on July 3rd, 2024, after a courageous three-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer. Mike was born forty-eight years ago on July 15th, 1975, in St. George Utah to parents Aron Snyder and Laureda Hulet. Mike spent most of his childhood summers in Newcastle, Utah working on the family farm with his Grandpa Clifton Hulet and his Uncle Brad Hulet. During these summers, he learned hundreds of valuable life lessons while creating wonderful memories. Mike spent time on the Arizona Strip and at the Snyder Family Ranch, cutting cedar posts and spending time with family. Mike’s life-long accomplishments also include his unique ability to fix anything and everything. One of his crowning achievements was that he never put himself ahead of others.
From a young age, Mike found a heartfelt passion with anything he could fix. His first love was his 1966 Chev. In Mikes early 20’s, he found a love for demolition derbies. He and his little brother, Albert, spent many hours building cars for these derby’s. Mike started working at Parke Cox Trucking at the age of 19, as he built his thirty-plus years career in the transportation industry. He was known as “Mike the Maintenance Man!” In 1992, Mike met the love of his life and forever partner, April Bauer, when he was a junior in high school. He would tease April when he saw her walking to church every Sunday. Little did they know that this “teasing” was the start of their forever relationship. Soon after, they fell in love after he kissed her hand on the Boulevard at the young age of seventeen. On New Years Eve, 1994, Mike proposed to April. They were married on October 7th, 1995, in St. George.
In April of 2003, Mike and April brought a beautiful daughter, Macey, into the world. Later, in August of 2008, their handsome son Drake, was born. Together they raised a loving, happy, and caring family. Their favorite family memories are camping and hunting trips. Mike taught his kids to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. He also taught his children valuable lessons of hard work, service and living a life of caring and compassion. Mike is the perfect example of a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and friend. In March of 2024, Mike was able to walk his daughter Macey, down the aisle at her wedding and danced with her. He will be sorely missed.
Mike is survived by his wife, April, children Macey (Monte) Evans, and Drake Snyder, his parents Aron Snyder and Laureda West and Grandmother Ramona Marshall. Sister Rachel (Darin)Moore, brother Albert (Heather) Snyder. Nieces and nephews including Casey, Brady, Brittney, Raegan, Kenadee and Kade. Mother-in-Law Kelly Mumford and father-in-law Chuck Bauer.
